Thomas & Friends Brownie Bites

Hi, friends!

I haven't disappeared from the Earth....just a busy week for me this week!!!!

Mason's 4th birthday is on Sunday, so I wanted to share what I made for his preschool class.  These are far from the perfection for which I was hoping, but since 3-4 year olds will eat them faster than we can say the word "birthday," it probably doesn't matter!!!! BTW, Mason is OBSESSED with Thomas & Friends, so here is what we came up with for his class treat:

First, I used a candy mold to make the "Gordon, Number 4 Engine" candies. Don't look too closely, this was not easy!!!!! If you've done any candy making, you know the time and stress that is involved with melting, coloring, and trying to figure out where in the clear mold the particular color of candy is supposed to go.

Then I made brownie bites and stuck the candies in them:

While I was at it, I used the mold to make solid color suckers too, using a piece of plastic straw for the sucker stick.

Mason ate his sucker in the 1.5 minutes it took for us to exit his preschool and get to our van!!! However, my sweet boy did tell me over and over how good they were....good tasting and good looking.

The Not-So-Fashionable Mom

Hi friends!
I hope you're enjoying your week so far!

What the family and I have been up to for the last week....

On Friday, I intended to stop in Tim Horton's for some soup and coffee...I ended up with a Pumpkin Pie donut and an Iced Capp made w/chocolate milk!!!! I was on a sugar/caffeine high for an hour after this!!!

Jim took Mason with him to his parents' to visit, so I enjoyed a nice Friday without kids!  Here I am taking a break from my long walk along the dam:

These pumpkin spice Toll House cookies are fabulous....
...so delicious!!!!

S'mores by the fire pit!

Our neighbors have the most adorable Halloween decor!!!

Have a great week my friends!!!!

Pumpkin Goodies

It's now officially Fall!!!!!!  If you're a pumpkin lover like me, then you're probably well aware of all the great pumpkin goodies at all the retail stores now.  I'm sharing some of my faves and not-so-faves...

Aldi - Pumpkin Pie Fit & Active Pumpkin Pie Yogurt
Blah...I didn't like it.  The flavor isn't that bad, but it's a little too runny. Maybe I'm just so used to eating greek yogurt that much thicker.  It wasn't what I expected...boo:(

Aldi - Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer
This is OK.  I had to use a ton of it to really taste it in my coffee.  It wasn't good use of my daily calorie allotment, so I probably won't purchase it again, but I did like it better when I used french vanilla and the pumpkin spice creamer together.

World Market - Pumpkin Spice Pancake & Waffle Mix
I purchased this for a friend, so I don't know how it tastes.  But I can't wait to hear!

OK, so it's not exactly "pumpkin", but isn't this Fall Harvest Pasta from World Market $2.99 soooo cute?!!!!!  Little pumpkin and leaf shapes!!!! It's almost too cute to eat.....maybe I'll come up with a craft with it!

World Market - Torani Sugar Free Pumpkin Spice Syrup $7.99
I put this in my coffee this morning and I love it!  I'm thinking it would be great in tea, soda, soup, or milkshakes!  I'll let you know if I give any of those ideas a try;)

Happy Pumpkin Season, friends!!!!

Problems with Google Docs

Hi friends!
When I began posting free girl scout printables to this blog, I had no idea there would be such a huge demand for these documents!!!  I have quickly discovered that there are very few other free resources available to us leaders and many of you (thousands of you) are downloading and sharing my files...yay!!!!!

Google Docs issues - Some of you have made me aware of various problems with Google Docs, which is where I post all my free printables.  I am looking into this.  If you are getting any sort of error message, first try googling it.  If you're having no luck, please do not hesitate to email me and let me know about it or you can leave a comment on the post.  As I research errors and problems, I will start to post some possible solutions.

In the meantime.......
If you're having problems downloading documents, feel free to email me and request that I send them to you.  Be specific on the exact document(s) that you want me to send.  Allow 3-5 days for a response.

Is anyone NOT having any trouble downloading the files???  Please let me know!!!!

UPDATE 9/24/14 at 6:05 PM ET:
Google is apparently aware of the problem and is working to fix this bug relating to the following error message: "Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently...".

Here is a work-around for Chrome users that someone posted on their forum:

The Viewing seems to work so instead of choosing to download you can instead choose to Print. If you Print from Chrome you can choose to Save As PDF. If you print from some other browser you can easily find a free PDF printer to print to.
Oh, one more thing...if you cancel the print in Chrome it actually brings it up as the PDF where you can then choose to save it.
