DIY Basketball Valentines
Happy Valentine's Day! It's been a busy Valentine season trying to keep up with Etsy orders, cookie sales printables, and of course my own person life! But the day is here and Spring Break is only 5 weeks away!
I wanted to share what we did for my son's class Valentines this year:
🏀BASKETBALL VALENTINES🏀
Supplies:
Orange Sharpie
Black Sharpie
Basketball Stickers (I made ours with my son's handwriting using Photoshop, my Silhouette Cameo and sticker paper, but you could use these)
Food Scale (optional)
I used an orange Sharpie to color the "rim," then a black Sharpie to draw a "net" on the container. I weighed each one, adding exactly 1.48 oz. of candies per container (the max that would fit!). Then I put the sticker on top. Very easy!
My son has a double-class of 42 kids, so this took a lot of time! But I didn't do everything at once, and in the end, I think they turned out great!
My daughter is in middle school, so she doesn't do Valentines anymore ☹️... instead, we made chocolate covered strawberries for her friends at lunch!

Basketball Party: Photos and Free Printables!
We had a busy weekend celebrating (and cleaning up 😉) my son's birthday at his basketball party with 23 of his friends! I wanted to share some photos and free printables that I created to turn my porch into a concession stand! Enjoy!
-DECOR-
I used a white foam board from Dollar Tree and created the menu header and CONCESSIONS banner in Photoshop.
We used an old backboard (borrowed from my friend) for drinks, and other various basketball items for decor (mini scoreboard, Little Tikes hoop, trophies, orange balloons, basketball hoops)
I considered getting all the NBA plates, cups, etc. from Party City, but decided to go the the much cheaper route and use pumpkin-themed items from Dollar Tree!
I cut out a foam board for this frame and made letters and cutouts on my Silhouette Cameo.
-ACTIVITIES-
While there were mostly boys at the party, I decided to plan a craft (mostly in case the girls were bored with the outdoor games), but this pumpkin glitter globe was a HUGE hit with all the kids!!!!!
Dollar Tree is beginning to put out all their Christmas stuff, so I snatched almost two cases of these DIY Snow Globes!! Each child filled their globes with glitter and glow-in-the-dark-stones from Dollar Tree (couldn't find them online, but they were in the craft section at our store). We hot glued the stack of pumpkins (pulled off of Halloween straws I found at Walmart and Michaels) onto the base. We opened up the pumpkins and put a glow stone inside as well. We added about 2 drops of glycerin and filled the globes with water. Very age-appropriate for 2nd graders and above!
We prepped each globe ahead of time with all the supplies. Here you can see how the stones glow in the dark!!!
-FAVORS-
I forgot to take a pic of the favors, but here was a video I posted to my instagram stories the day before. Each child got a basketball keychain with his/her name on it, Gatorade, candy, and chips
When they entered the party, we gave them all a lanyard with their name on it. If you'd like to purchase the printable, visit my Etsy shop and message me for a quote!

Free Printable Kids Journal Page
Here is something brand new I've been working on (and considering creating some more styles around this design)...a KIDS JOURNAL PAGE!!! I have noticed some changes in my second grader lately....he's been very dramatic, emotional and impulsive. It's almost like he's reverting back to the terrible twos 🤭🤪!!! It may have something to do with his sister now in middle school. She's no longer on the bus with him or in the same school and as much as they fight and irritate each other, I think they each miss one another!!! I'm not totally sure, and if it gets worse, we'll consider counseling, but in the meantime, we're going to try journaling! (Wish me luck...this boy is sports-obsessed, highly active, and the last thing he wants to do is read or write😂)!
