Valentine Nails!

First I painted my nails white and allowed to dry several minutes.
Second I free-handed a dark pink heart with the Sally Hansen quick-dry polish using an X-like stroke.
Third I used a Sally Hansen glitter polish over top.

Nail Polish Organization

I had WAY TOO MANY bottles of nail polish!!!!!!!  I kept transferring them to bigger containers, trying to find the best way to organize them.  Then it hit me: PURGE!!!  Some were almost 10 years old (can you believe they were still actually good?!!)!!

So I decided I would keep 1) the bottles I wear most and 2) whatever would fit into this handy makeup caddy.  I grouped them by brand instead of color, just because that's how they are at the store and they fit better into the compartments that way.

I ordered this caddy through Mary Kay for a mere $7 (available to order by Mary Kay beauty consultants only). However, there are similar ones available here and here.

Yay! Found the Sally Hansen Nail Strips @ #CVS

http://twitpic.com/3uish1

They were pretty easy to apply--much easier than I expected.  My only complaint is that one of the packages (they come with two 8-packs), there was a light white line across the stickers.  It's hard to notice, and it was probably just something with the manufacturing.  Other than that, they're great!  They were about $10.00.  I'll update on how long they last!!

5-Minute French Manicure!

As much as I love the low maintenance of artificial nails, my nails needed a breather!  So, I found a great product:  The white Nail Art Pen by Sally Hansen, $5.99-$7.99 at Drugstores or Target.  It's basically a fine point pen.  You just draw on the tip of your nail, allow to dry, then apply a coat of clear or sheer polish (my fave is Sally Hansen's Bamboo Shoot).  It's sooo easy, and speedy for us busy moms!

Also...it's GREAT to use on kids' nails to draw flowers, art, etc....or even a kids' french mani!!

Mom's Manicure

I have become so irritated with my fingernails lately.  This dry, cold weather is causing them to break, peel, and chip.  I'm sick of dealing with them!!  Polish won't last for more than a day or two (I'm a little picky about even the slightest chip in polish!).

So, I found my solution...Glue-on Nails
-I can put a set on in less than 10 minutes & trim them down so they're natural-looking
-Take them off 10 days later with no damage to my natural nails
-They're soooo inexpensive compared to acrylic nails from the salon!
-When applied correctly, they hold up through washing dishes, cleaning, cooking, and all the other motherly duties!

The only difficult thing for me is that I have very high-arch nails, and Kiss has apparently discontinued their high-arch custom fit nails.  I snatched up every last box I could from all the area Walgreens stores (and they were half-price...woohoo!), but now I will have to buy them online.
