Reindeer Tootsie Pop Silhouette Cut File

I searched everywhere this weekend for a cut file for the cute reindeer tootsie pop design that I've seen all over Pinterest....and I could not find it anywhere!!!!  So I created it myself!  It's such a simple, adorable idea and I'm planning to make them for my son's party this week! (I got the red Tootsie Pops on Amazon and the Googly Eye stickers on Amazon too!) I hope you will find the cut file useful!

Holiday Class Party Craft Idea!

Hi everyone!  I am excited to share a simple holiday class party craft with you.  It can work for all elementary ages, although you may wish to prepare some of the steps ahead of time for the younger kiddos.  I created this ornament idea specifically for my son's first grade class, so I did much of the prep work such as cutting, gluing and creating the "kits" prior to the party.

UPDATE: This craft was a huge success at the party!  I was impressed at how the first graders needed very little guidance...they pretty much figured it out on their own!  It only took about 5 minutes for them to complete (whew!).  The most challenging part was the little star rings, which could be left off.  Many of the kids took a yellow marker and colored the star topper.

Supplies needed:
Tree Cutouts on Green Paper (PDF Here) (Silhouette cut file here) - 2 per ornament
Wired Tinsel ribbon (3 feet per ornament)
Tape, Glue or Tape Runner
String & Scissors for ornament hanger (approx 10 inches per ornament)
Optional decorations:
Mini claw hair clips (also avail at Dollar Tree, Five Below, Walmart, etc)
Star hair rings
Wood Stars - Target Dollar Spot (Holiday 2017) or Star Stickers

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut approx 10 inches of string to use for ornament hanger.  Glue or use a tape runner and attach the string to the top of one of the tree cutouts.  Glue the second tree cutout over top.  (For younger kids, complete this step ahead of time.)

2.  Tape the end of the tinsel ribbon to the back of the cutout.  Allow kids to wrap the tinsel ribbon any way they choose!  When complete, simply twist the wire to itself to attach.

3.  The kids will clip on the hair clips, star hair rings, stickers, etc. for decoration.

4.  Use tape, glue, or glue dots to attach a wood star or star sticker to the top of the tree.

5.  Don't forget to write child's name and year on the ornament!

Easy Christmas Arrangement DIY, Under $5.00!

Hi everyone!  I have a Christmas craft project for you today!  We have various pine trees in our yard, so I figured that I should be taking advantage of them for the holiday season!  I'm not talking about cutting them down to use for our Christmas tree (we're not the Griswolds😛!!!), but they have beautiful branches, pinecones, and let's not forget the fresh smell of pine that is fabulous for crafts and decor!!!  Here is a very simple and inexpensive fresh arrangement that I made for under $5.00!

Supplies Needed:

Wire Basket or box (plain or paint to your desired color!)

Wet Foam Brick

Branches from evergreen/pine/spruce trees, various types and sizes

Pinecones, berry stems, embellishments

Ribbon

Floral Wire

Wire and/or Branch Cutter

Step 1: Soak the wet foam in a sink or bowl of water.  Allow to absorb water naturally, usually about two minutes.

Step 2: Cut to fit your container. 

Step 3: Place in the bottom of your container. 

Step 4:  Trim branches as needed and stick into the foam. You can't go wrong!  Just start pushing them into the foam and add more and more until your desired fullness.

Step 5: Use floral wire to attach any embellishments. 

Step 6: To cover foam block, just shove in some greenery! 

Step 7: Attach a bow with floral wire or just tie it around a branch.  

Great gift idea!  Get creative by adding ornaments, glitter branches, candy canes, lights, etc.

Don't forget to add water to your foam every day or two to keep it from drying out!

Last-Minute Gift Ideas $5-$10

I wanted to share a few last-minute gift ideas that are inexpensive, useful, easy to find, and quick to pull together!!!

Soup Mugs and Soup Mix - about $6.00-$7.00 (I paid $5.50)

I gave a set of soup containers and my fave Bear Creek Chicken Noodle Soup to all the ladies at the office where I get my allergy shots.  It was a hit!!! They loved it!!  Originally I was going to purchase these soup mugs from Target for $6.99...until I found some at Dollar Tree for $1.00!!!! They had pink, blue, and green, and from what I could tell, they are a pretty good quality (I hope so, at least!!!). You could also use ceramic ones and any soup of your choice, of course!

Gift Cards - $5.00 or $10.00

When in doubt, just get a GIFT CARD!!!!!!  Our local Kroger grocery store had Amazon gift cards in 3-packs of $10.00.  These were great for the bus driver, dance teacher, and gym/art teachers!  You can purchase Starbucks cards in almost any increment.  I used to feel silly giving gift cards because the person would know how much I spent.  But now, I don't care!!!!  They can get what they want and it's so easy!!!

Bath & Body Works Hand Soaps - $2.50-$5.00

I find that the hand soaps are better than lotion or other bath products because the scent isn't too strong, so you can't go wrong with any of the options. Also, unlike lotions, they will actually get used up to the end!!!  I often throw away old body sprays and other products like that because I have half the bottle left a couple years later. It goes bad and has to be trashed. Not the case with the soaps!!

Any kind of Kits - $2.00-$10.00

Any little kits full of useful items are always appreciated! You can put them together yourself!

1-Purse Kit: A cute zipper pouch or pencil case filled with mints, gum, and chocolates

2-Car Kit: A plastic shoebox filled with wipes, snacks, nail files, tissues, etc. 

3-Mom Kit: A clear zipper bag with Band-Aids, Neosporin, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, Shout wipes, floss, disposable toothbrushes, etc.

4-Craft Kit: A photo box filled with glitter, washi tape, gel pens, stickers, note cards, etc.

5-Baking Kit: A loaf pan filled with the dry ingredients for pumpkin bread or banana bread
