Mother's Day Craft: Compact Mirrors & Poem

I wanted to share the craft my Sunday School class will be doing this Sunday!  It's always a challenge to find something that's not too expensive (we may have up to 15 kids in class!) but will be special and meaningful to the moms.  So I was browsing around the Dollar Tree yesterday and came up with this idea....for a whopping $1.00 each plus I spent another $4.00 on stickers and $3.00 for gift bags.

I found these mirrors (they have a regular mirror AND a 3x zoom mirror).  They came in 3 colors: hot pink, gray and black.

I used my Cricut machine for the pink flower background.

Here is an example compact that decorated very simply with two silver stickers and some heart confetti.  I will give the kids lots of stickers and gems to choose from.

School's Out Countdown! FREE Printable!!!

It's May and that means just a few more weeks until school's out for summer!!!  As a mom, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...hehehe!!!

Enjoy this free printable countdown!  Cut it out and slip it  into an 8x10 frame and use a dry erase marker to write on the glass.

No More Training Wheels - FREE Printable Certificates!

When Mya learned to ride her bike without training wheels, it was HUGE deal in our house (in fact, it was almost exactly one year ago)!!!  I wish I had thought to make her a certificate back then, but here are a couple that I've made now to share:)  There is a blue/red one and a pink/purple one--both are included in the free download.

DIY Pretty Storage Box

I was soooo excited when I found this fabulous idea from Jen on http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com!!!  Beautiful storage boxes!!!  I was searching and searching for a beautiful box that would match my family room decor and fit nicely on the built-in bookshelf.  I didn't want to spend a lot of money so when I came across her project, I was elated!!!

My project was free because I could shop my own basement for the box and paint, but she says you can find white boxes for about $3 or $4.

I got a couple of these boxes several years ago, probably at Dollar Tree.  I just pulled off the ribbon.

I spray painted two coats of this metallic finish paint.

And for the lid, I used the leftover paint that is on our walls!

I let it dry for a few hours on the porch and then added some washi tape (that I already had on hand) around the bottom.  Then my project was complete!!
