Free Printable: Fit Tracker

Spring Break is only a couple months away....yikes!!!!  The thought of putting on a bathing suit right now makes me sick to my stomach!!  My kiddos got me a FitBit Flex for Mother's Day last year, and I've had that thing on every single day since.  But, it wasn't until a few weeks ago that I really started looking at the app multiple times a day to see my stats and try to hit my goals. Probably because I had 5 pounds to lose from all my holiday over-eating...hehehe!!!  Here's a printable tracker that I created to start logging my steps, miles, etc. on paper. The FitBit App is great, but I think it's fun to write out my stats and keep them in my planner.

Free Printable: New Food & Fitness Tracker

Once again, I've been a little tad bit of a slacker lately with my workout...then I noticed I put on a few pounds too.  So back to tracking.....this is always a huge success for me.  I've created a new tracker sheet that includes, food tracking, fitness tracking, and ME tracking.  The ME section is to make sure that I'm taking a little time for myself each day.  This could be 20 minutes of browsing Pinterest, reading a magazine, relaxing on the patio, etc.  It will force me to take that time for myself and help me recognize if I get a little too carried away with Me (you know, like if I spend 2 hours on Facebook or something!!!). FREE Printable Workout Tracking Sheet

I've really been a slacker with my workouts lately.  So what better way to get my rear in gear than to create a tracking sheet?!  Of course I had to share!

I mentioned earlier this week that we got an elliptical machine and there is no longer an excuse for me not to work out! So……I created this cardio tracking log.  Click HERE or on the image below to download!

New Workout

Last year I posted about how I was doing Jillian Michaels's 30-day Shred workout and loving it!  Well...then I got preggo and took a little (okay...long) break!  Now I have found a fun, new workout thanks to my husband's Play Station 3.  He got the Active 2 Program for Christmas and I have been using it and loving it!!

I'll go back to Jillian's DVD when it gets closer to summer, since I was sooo pleased with the results.  But for now, I'm going to continue the Active 2.  Each program is a series of lots of quick, one or two-minute segments related to basketball, soccer, aerobics, and even boxing.  You wear an arm band on each arm and one on a thigh to keep track of your heart rate and to track moves and motions throughout the program.

The one negative: apparently you can only keep track of one person's data.  So my husband and I cannot both track our progress separately.  No biggie though....calories burned are calories burned, no matter how they're tracked!!

Workout!

I have never been very consistent about exercising, mostly because I get very bored with it!!  I hate going downstairs into our cold basement to get on the treadmill, and when I do, my 2 1/2 year old daughter is usually getting into stuff or whining that she wants to go back upstairs.  I'm better about exercising when I have a reason for doing it, and since I'll be going to Florida in a couple months and probably wearing a swimsuit, I have great motivation now!

So, I found a GREAT workout that is only 20 minutes long: Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred!!!  I found it on Exercise TV (it's a free on-demand channel we have where you can pick different types of workouts and watch them when you want.)  I've been doing it for 3 weeks now, and I'm loving it.  I think it's meant to be done every day, but it's pretty intense, so I try to do two days, then take a day off to rest my muscles!

Pros:
-It's only 20 minutes (30 min. if you include the warm up/cool down)!
-It has strength, cardio & abs
-Jillian has an advanced and beginner instructor doing the workout with her, so I can follow the one who best suits me
-Just when I think I'm going to drop dead, it's time for cool down!

Cons:
-Sore muscles!!!  Just when my soreness was gone, I moved up to Level 2 and was sore all over again
-For the workout to be effective, you can't cheat...I have to give 110%....but...no pain, no gain!
